The client company Green Basket has rented a farm space (~900 m² by floor), finished construction work, and the installation of vertical farm equipment is in progress. At the first stage, the customer plans to cultivate microgreens (growing area 1196 m², design capacity 18,725 kg/month) and leafy lettuces (1359 m², 5,028 kg/month). It is planned that the lettuce farm will be put into operation in the Autumn of 2022.
The total production capacity of the farm is estimated at 23 tons per month. The salads and microgreens produced here will be sold on the domestic market, where the demand for fresh herbs, leafy salads and vegetables is very high. In the future, the client plans to scale up the experience of building a vertical farm in Riyadh and other cities in Saudi Arabia in order to feed compatriots with ultra-fresh, tasty and safe food grown on the basis of iFarm technologies.
